Guidelines for Classical/Folk Dance & Music Performances
📅 Event Dates: July 4 - 6, 2025
📍 Venue: Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, Florida
The NATS Sambaralu Cultural Committee welcomes performers to showcase their talent in Classical/folk dance and music at the 8th America Telugu Sambaralu. All performances must adhere to the following guidelines to maintain the cultural integrity and high standards of the event.
1. Eligibility & Registration
- ✔ All performances must be registered online through the official registration portal before the deadline: April 15, 2025.
- ✔ Only group performances are allowed. Solo performances are not permitted.
- ✔ A minimum of 10 participants is required for each group performance.
- ✔ A performer can participate in only one (1) performance per genre and a maximum of two (2) performances across different genres.
- ✔ All performances must be in Telugu or Sanskrit and should reflect the cultural heritage of the Telugu community.
2. Performance Requirements

Time Limits:
- Classical Dance & Music: Up to 10 minutes
- Dance Drama: Up to 30 minutes
- Instrumental/Vocal Performance: Up to 8 minutes
- ✔ Strict adherence to the allotted time slot is mandatory.
- ✔ Strict adherence to the allotted time slot is mandatory. The NATS team reserves the right to stop or shorten any performance exceeding the limit.
- ✔ A video submission (3-5 minutes) of the actual performance in full attire is required for review. Videos must be in MP4 format or a YouTube link and should be submitted via email to cultural@sambaralu.org.
- ✔ All performers must provide a pre-recorded music track (if applicable) in MP3/WAV format. The file should be clearly labeled with the performance name and include instructions on when to start playback. Performers should also carry a backup copy on the day of the event.
3. Stage & Backstage Protocol
- ✔ Performers must arrive backstage at least 30 minutes before their scheduled performance time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to perform.
- ✔ Parents, siblings, and non-participants will NOT be allowed on stage, backstage, or in dressing rooms unless prior arrangements have been made with the NATS Cultural Committee.
- ✔ Performing groups are responsible for bringing all required props, attire, and performance materials. All items must be stage-appropriate.
4. Selection Process & Discretionary Rights
- ✔ Submitting a registration form does not guarantee participation. The final selection will be made at the sole discretion of the NATS Sambaralu Classical/Folk Cultural Committee.
- ✔ NATS reserves the right to select or reject any performance based on content, adherence to guidelines, and overall program scheduling.
- ✔ NATS also reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel any performance if necessary due to event constraints.
5. Admission & Fees
- ✔ Free admission is granted ONLY to participants on the day of their performance.
- ✔ All accompanying attendees (parents, siblings, or others) must purchase admission tickets for the event.
- ✔ No remuneration or financial compensation will be provided to performers.
6. Disclaimer & Liability
- ✔ NATS is not responsible for any unforeseen circumstances, injuries, or liabilities incurred during rehearsals, performances, or related activities.
- ✔ All participants must adhere to event guidelines and respect the decisions of the NATS Cultural Committee.
- ✔ These guidelines are subject to change, and the committee reserves the right to modify the rules as necessary before or during the event.
